Future Living - Phase II
The second phase of Future Living has brought together partner companies from 9 countries across 4 continents, meeting four times in each project year either in-person or online together with ad hoc interactions during the ongoing two-year research phase.
Primary bespoke research has been undertaken by PKF hospitality research, focusing on the fast-growing areas of Branded Residences and Digital Nomads.
The Branded Residences study is seeking to better understand both the detail of existing and future supply, identifying sustainable trends and innovations and the motivations of buyers in order to build a clearer picture of what is required for future developments.
The Digital Nomad study has identified demographic profile groups in order to spot the opportunities that exist for serviced living to capture a fast-growing demand driven by increased global mobility and changing working practices.
Topics in the phase have included, serviced living trends, hybrid buildings, spaces for the flexible generation, wellbeing, branded residences and branded living, smart cities, sustainable development, foresight and signals of change, GEO and AI.
Meetings have been held in Lisbon, Florence, Amsterdam, and Hamburg, and at each meeting, guided tours were undertaken of a range of serviced living or topic relevant buildings, allowing the group to ‘get under the bonnet’ of operations, design, sustainability and technology and so benefiting from the varied lense approach and sharing of opinion within the collective.
